Made for You, Not Mass Produced.
At Poyter, how a shoe is made matters as much as how it looks. Our British design philosophy brings together premium Italian leather, specialist shoemaking in Spain and traditional bench-made craftsmanship for more individual commissions. Rather than forcing every customer through one production model, we offer distinct routes — from our fast-turnaround Collection to personalised Made to Order, our 3D design studio and Made to Measure.
Each route offers a different balance of speed, personalisation and craft. The principle behind them is the same: considered materials, precise fit and footwear made with intention.
PERSONALISE A DESIGN
Create a pair designed around your individual style and requirements.
PERSONALISE YOUR DESIGNOne Brand. Four Ways to Make Your Pair.
Poyter was built around a simple idea: premium footwear should offer more than a standard size and a fixed design. Some clients want a refined pair with minimal wait. Others want to change the colour, sole or fitting. Some want to create the entire shoe in 3D. And some need a last and fit developed around their feet.
That is why Poyter uses four distinct production routes. Choose the level of personalisation that suits you — and we take care of the craftsmanship that follows.
The Poyter Collection
Our Collection is the quickest route into Poyter craftsmanship. The design, leather, construction and finishing have already been carefully resolved, allowing each pair to enter our fastest preparation route without asking you to compromise on the character of the shoe. Enjoy the timeless Poyter design with minimal customisation and a significantly shorter wait.
Personalise a Design
Start with a finished Poyter design and make it your own. Choose from our curated collection of established designs, then refine the colour, material, sole and fit, with wide and extra-wide options on eligible styles. Order the design as presented or personalise selected details before your pair is individually crafted to order in Spain using premium European leathers.
Create Your Own
For those who want greater creative control, the Poyter 3D Shoe Studio lets you build your pair from the foundations up. Begin with your choice of 9 shoe or 8 boot styles, select from four distinctive last shapes, then define the leather or suede, colours, individual panels, sole, finishing details and fit. Watch your creation take shape in 3D before your final specification enters production in Spain.
Bespoke Made to Measure
Our most individual expression of fit and craftsmanship. Each commission begins with your individual measurements and fitting requirements. Where required, a dedicated last can be developed to accommodate exceptional width, length, asymmetry or more complex proportions. Your shoes are then crafted with extensive freedom over style, leather, colour and finishing details.
British in Spirit. Crafted with Specialist Hands.
Poyter is a British footwear brand, but we believe the best result comes from placing each stage of production in the hands of specialists. Our Collection and Made to Order lines are crafted in Spain, combining generations of shoemaking knowledge with the precision required for consistent fit, finishing and construction.
For our Made to Measure and Bespoke work, we collaborate with skilled artisans who work on a far smaller scale — often one pair at a time — preserving specialist bench-made techniques that are increasingly rare in modern footwear.
The right craftsman, the right material, the right process — chosen for the pair being made.
Leather Chosen for the Years Ahead
Leather is central to the character of a Poyter shoe. Our Spanish-made collections use premium Italian leathers selected for their depth, surface quality and ability to develop character with wear. Rather than designing for a single season, we favour materials that can be cared for, polished and appreciated over time.
Goodyear Welted Where Longevity Matters
Our Made to Order dress shoes and boots are built around Goodyear-welted construction. The welt creates a structured connection between upper and sole and allows an experienced cobbler to replace the outsole when required. It is a slower, more involved way of constructing a shoe, chosen because it supports durability, repairability and the substantial feel associated with classic dress footwear.

Fit Is Part of the Design
A premium shoe should not ask you to tolerate the wrong fit. Our core collection and customisation programme extends across UK sizes 5–17, with wide and extra-wide fittings available across eligible styles. Made to Measure goes further when standard size-and-width combinations are not enough.
This focus on fit has been part of Poyter from the beginning. The result is a range designed not only around how a dress shoe should look, but around the different feet that need to wear it.

From Choice to Finished Pair
The precise process changes according to the pair you choose, but every Poyter order follows the same progression: define the shoe, establish the fit, bring the materials together and finish the pair with care.

Final Preparation
Made to order is not simply a delivery method. It is a more deliberate way of making footwear.
A More Considered Approach to Production
Across our personalised routes, production begins around a confirmed customer specification rather than an assumption about what might sell. This allows us to offer greater choice while reducing the need to manufacture large quantities of finished shoes simply to hold them in inventory.
Our bench-made Made to Measure work takes that philosophy further. These pairs rely more heavily on artisan skill and minimal machinery, helping preserve specialist shoemaking techniques while supporting craftspeople within the communities in which they work.
One Philosophy. However You Choose to Wear It.
A Collection pair prepared in days and a fully Made to Measure commission may follow very different journeys, but they belong to the same Poyter philosophy: refined design, quality materials, a serious approach to fit and footwear made to earn its place in your wardrobe.
